Carl Burger Dodge, the biggest San Diego Mopar dealership, had it's annual customer appreciation car show, and ma Mopar sent a Hellcat

it gathered a bit of attention real fast... but it's as quite as a normal 6 cylinder car until/unless the driver stomps on the gas pedal... so it snuck in without being noticed.

It's great to find a random use of a musclecar in a tv show

wow, this freeze frame is a sure clue that this is a stock suspension, and just how useless factory suspension was in 1970... the back is locked up by the brakes and the front is folded under off the tread, and not changing the direction very well with all the understeer

Found on the show Castle, 2nd season

Charity auctions win, but Mopar Challenger wins over Ford Mustang and Chevy Camaro (again, and for a while to come based on the HP of the Hellcat)

Each of the Detroit Big Three automakers donated a hot muscle car to be sold for charities of their respective choosing on Super Saturday at Barrett-Jackson.

the 1st Challenger Hellcat raised $825,000 http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2014/09/29/first-2015-dodge-challenger-srt-hellcat-sells-for-825000/

the 50th anniversary Mustang, #1964 of 1,964 50th anniversary editions raised $170,000

Challenger Hellcat info

Gets to dealerships in November

Only about 2/3rds of dealerships will get 1 in the 1st round. Not some, 1. For example, of all the dealerships in California, there will be only 89 Hellcat Challengers, in the initial 2 month dispensing of the first production run. No one knows what the factory is going to do after that, but you can guess they'll see what they can do about cost ($59,999.00 to start) and profit.

So far, one has been sold for $125,000 in New York... expect all other dealerships to auction off their first car for similar profit, as selling Vipers is a big loss for dealerships. 10-20 thousand loss per Viper

The EPA gave it the estimated highway fuel use of 22mpg

With stock factory tires, it had a 11.2 second 1/4 mile, at 125 mph

With drag slicks, it had a 10.8 @126mph

Dodge designers have added some easter eggs (fun surprises you'll like) to the new Challenger, Charger, Viper, and Jeeps

The idea began with a little image of the original 1941 Willys Jeep on the frame of the 2011 Wrangler windshield. The image simultaneously appealed to owners who noticed it, and gave them a reason to buy original Chrysler parts if they needed a replacement. Anybody can make a spare part, but only Chrysler has the right to reproduce the image of the ’41 Willys for sale.

the Jeep stuff I posted in February http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2014/02/the-cute-little-jeep-touches-on.html

the owners manual canvas bag isn't an easter egg, but it's pretty damn cool anyway! So is the tool kit

The new 2014 Jeep Cherokee SUV is an Easter egg hunt on wheels. Among other goodies, the parking-assist video display shows the Cherokee driving past a row of Willys.

For SRT vehicles, Viper was the first to have specific SRT-related “Easter Eggs.” Those came in the form of track maps of Laguna Seca and the Nurburgring added to the interior of the supercar. http://www.drivesrt.com/news/2014/05/srt-vehicles-easter-eggs.html

One of the most vivid “Easter Eggs” in the SRT Viper is the Stryker logo that lights up on the tachometer when the rev limit is reached. Additional screen- and electronics-related “Easter Eggs” that can be programmed through software have found their way into SRT vehicles in recent years. Through electronics, “Easter Eggs” have the capacity to evolve over the lifetime of vehicle ownership. The reception to “Easter Eggs” on SRT vehicles has been very positive from both customers and automotive analysts. Media members enjoy the challenge of finding “Easter Eggs” as they test drive and review vehicles, and SRT vehicle owners revisit childhood memories of taking part in an actual Easter egg hunts.

Supposedly the above was the first giveaway of the Hellcat 707 horsepower ....

scanning the pic for some additional hidden treasures,  the first thing that grabbed attention was the individual climate control temperatures, with 68 being the year when Carl Cameron designed the original Challenger.
